Mirror turned Chalkboard

I love this project (but click her button to check out more too!) from Crystal at

You'll be looking for yard sale mirrors (me too!)! Here is her post:

Ugly Mirror From the 80's Turned Chalkboard

Remember this ugly duckling from a the post I did a couple of weeks ago? I was undecided if I wanted a message center or a chalkboard. Well, I went with the later. I had also fully intended to sell this one, but it turned out so well I kept it for myself. Lucky for me the place I bought it has a twin. So, I'm going back over there tomorrow to pick it up.

The Process:

* Removed the mirror and replaced with plexiglass
* Painted plexiglass with chalkboard paint
* Primed the frame
* Spray painted it white
* Dry brushed it with dark stain
* Replaced the red velvet with burlap
* Let the frame dry, then distressed it with sander

This project took less than a day to complete and it was super easy.

Ready for the reveal? Big difference eh?
